Wi-Fi CERTIFIED is an internationally recognized product certification standard that indicates that a product has met industry-recognized standards for interoperability, security, and a range of application-specific protocols. The Wi-Fi CERTIFIED product has been rigorously tested in one of our independent authorized testing laboratories. When a product successfully passes the tests, the manufacturer or distributor is authorized to use the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED mark. Certification means that a product has been tested in various configurations with other devices, and the devices used for testing are extracted in different ways to verify interoperability between the product and other Wi-Fi CERTIFIED devices working on the same frequency band. A wide range of consumer, business and carrier-specific products, including smartphones, appliances, computers and peripherals, network infrastructure and consumer electronics, are eligible for certification. At the retail end, the CERTIFIED mark for Wi-Fi gives consumers confidence that the product provides a good user experience and complies with industry standards. Service providers and enterprise IT managers specify that the product must be CERTIFIED for Wi-Fi to reduce support costs and ensure that the product meets industry-approved requirements. Only companies that are members of the Wi-Fi Alliance may conduct product certification tests and use the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED mark and related trademarks.

How to join a Member

Joining a Wi-Fi Alliance is a key strategic element in providing Wi-Fi solutions and services. A number of future-oriented Wi-Fi and WiGig technologies are being significantly developed in our industry-leading collaboration forum. Our world-class certification program validates the best user experience and has the right to stamp the seal of approval that is sought after around the world. Since March 2000, Wi-Fi Alliance member companies have developed and launched more than 15 certification programs.

To date, our more than 600 member companies have certified more than 15,000 products through our 18 authorized testing laboratories around the world, and the number continues to grow. Being a member of our alliance and participating in our interoperability initiatives and market development efforts means that you and your customers are guaranteed to have the best experience using Wi-Fi products and services.

Join today and together we can drive the future of wireless. After your application is accepted by our board of directors, Wi-Fi Alliance staff will normally send you a notification and invoice via email within 10 working days. Your membership will be activated when Wi-Fi Alliance receives full payment. For existing members, dues will be collected annually for the following calendar year and all payments due will be made by 31 December.

Full membership

Full members can help develop our certification program and related support technology, certified products, and are entitled to a range of other benefits. Full membership costs $15,000 a year.

Affiliate membership

Affiliates of full and sponsor level members are eligible for a range of membership benefits at no additional cost. Affiliate members have the same rights as full members, including the ability to authenticate products using their own company names, but voting rights are still held by businesses with full or sponsorship-level membership in the Wi-Fi Alliance.

For a company to qualify for affiliate membership, the full member or sponsor level member business must (1) control the affiliate directly or indirectly; (2) be controlled by the subsidiary; Or (3) be under the control of another enterprise together with the affiliate (the same non-member enterprise must control both the member enterprise and the affiliate).

Implementer member

Implementer members can use previously certified Wi-Fi products to authenticate their terminal products. Implementor Members utilize the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED brand to provide users with an easy path, guaranteed interoperability and a proven superior user experience. Additional benefits include participation in three annual membership meetings, access to programming diagrams and verified technical parameters. The annual membership fee for Implementers is $5,000.。

WIFI authentication classification

1. New product certification: Wi-Fi certification is not inheritable.

2. Re-certification: the product has been certified; Wi-Fi related parts of the product have changed.

3. Modification: the product has been certified; Wi-Fi related parts of the product do not change.
